Cyber Real Estate Full Complex Upgrade By The Plumbing & Electrical Co.

For nearly a full month The Plumbing & Electrical Co. undertook a full apartment complex’s main drain replacement, along with a full main water service. This was a hefty task that required strategic planning, pure craftsmanship from expert plumbers, a lot of physical labour and tender loving care that we pride ourselves on. The job required attention to detail and physical grit, our team came through with fantastic results! When it comes to older urban pipe systems, these systems can be disrupted by cracking of the pipes, becoming prone to leaks, rusting and corrosion. Another benefit of upgrading a pipe system, especially in a complex is to have the water divided equally throughout each individual property, this means that your water usage is your water usage, not paying for someone else! The overall bill will not be split evenly but according to the individual's usage. With this job, we were able to upgrade the drain lines and water lines, removing the cast irons and putting in pvc lines. Expanding the entire system around the complex and then the boys completed the landscaping.

First the plumbers cut around all pipes and gullies so that they would be ready for the concrete removal. Once they cleaned up the concrete water and sludge off the footpath, they were clear to then break the pavers and start digging. They removed the concrete and the digging began! Once the plumbers replaced the first section of the drain, they connected the existing system and replaced the gully’s connected waste pipes. After connecting all waste pipes into gully traps, they backfilled the trench. This was so that the system would be ready for water service. Having the pipes exposed into each section of the dug trenches and then finding another soakwell directly in the middle of the new drain. They then had to excavate around the soakwell in order to be ready for further drain connection. The plumbers then installed all the water risers for sub meters and dug down towards the shaft. Carefully, they installed the drain under the driveway by plunking the pipe below to save cutting and digging across the driveway. A final connecting for the drain that would then provide a bridge to the existing line and a full back filling of the trench. The Plumbers then did all the landscaping, filling the trenches and covering them with neat stepping stones.

The biggest challenge the plumbers faced was the decommission of septic tanks. Septic tanks are underground containers that collects wastewater when a property is not connected to a sewer system. First, the waste is pumped out, the structure is removed off the ground (or the lids if unable to life the entire structure), the remaining space is filled with clean sand and compacted carefully, fully and thoroughly. Our team came through this process without any hiccups and saw this as an opportunity to fix the complex’s entire water system. They then focused on making sure that when the job is complete, the septic system would run smoothly.
