These units heat water as you need it, so there’s no bulky storage tank and no energy wasted keeping stored water hot. They’re compact, efficient and provide reliable hot water without the risk of a tank running empty. Simple design, fewer electrical components and no power-point requirement. Most properties have a gas supply large enough to interchange between instantaneous and continuous flow units. However, a power point may need to be installed, and the existing gas pipe size must be assessed. Overview :
The Bosch 16H HydroPower is a reliable and efficient continuous-flow hot water system, well suited to homes with one to two bathrooms. It delivers up to 16 litres of hot water per minute and only heats water when a hot tap is opened, so there’s no storage tank to run out and no energy wasted keeping stored water hot.
The “H” stands for HydroPower. When a hot tap is opened, the flowing water spins a small turbine inside the unit. This generates the electricity needed to ignite the gas burner automatically. There’s no standing pilot light, batteries or electrical power point required. Once the tap is turned off, the burner shuts down.
Compared with the Bosch 16P, the 16H doesn’t continuously operate a pilot light and has a higher 5-star energy rating. It’s a great option for customers wanting the water capacity of a 16-litre unit combined with efficient automatic ignition and a simple, proven design.
The Bosch 16H uses up to 130 MJ/h and is available for natural gas or LPG. It also comes with a 10-year domestic warranty on the heat exchanger, plus two years on parts and labour.
